HI @RGBCMTK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter all lights flashing on the control panel of your HP Envy Pro 6400 printer along with an E6 error message, it typically indicates a hardware issue or an internal error that needs attention. Here’s a structured approach to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the power outlet.
  3. Wait: Wait for about 1-2 minutes to allow the printer to completely power down.
  4. Reconnect Power Cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer and into the power outlet.
  5. Turn On the Printer: Press the Power button to turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  1. Open Input Tray: Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray.
  2. Check Inside the Printer: Open the printer’s access door and check for any stuck paper, foreign objects, or jammed paper paths.
  3. Clear Paper Jams: Carefully remove any jammed paper. Refer to the printer’s manual for specific instructions on clearing paper jams.

3. Inspect and Reset Cartridges

  1. Open Cartridge Access Door: Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to become idle and silent.
  2. Remove Cartridges: Remove the ink cartridges one by one.
  3. Inspect Cartridges: Check for any protective tape or packaging that might still be attached to the cartridges. Ensure they are properly installed.
  4. Reinsert Cartridges: Insert the cartridges back into their respective slots firmly until they click into place.

4. Reset the Printer

  1. Reset the Printer: Press and hold the Power button on the printer for about 10 seconds until it resets.
  2. Release Power Button: Release the Power button once the printer turns off, then turn it back on normally.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Update Firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your Envy Pro 6400 printer.
  2. Download and Install: If updates are available, follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
