Hi @TJ1028,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that has a error code.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

I have the same issue and automatic updates is on. I went through the cartridge and power steps but it didn't solve the problem. Anytime I try and print from Google Docs or something like that it fails. If I print a PDF from within HP Smart, it succeeds. This printer is set up on the house wifi. It is not connected directly to any computers or hardwired into the network. Office jet pro 8210.

Hi @Cpmikey,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are getting an error message on your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
We need to perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.
The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name, or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I did a factory reset, set the wifi credentials, and turned on eprint and it's still causing the same error. The HP Smart app is able to see the printer and I can see the printer in other apps like Google Docs, but there are no printers when I click on "Manage HP Account". Also, I have codes to claim printers, but nowhere to actually claim them in the app

I had the same issue. Factory reset and so further was no success. (Cartridges in and out, many printed testpages) The issue was only with printing from my Android phone. With an IPhone from my wife was no problem( this was the clue for following tasks). I have deinstalled any HP Apps including plug ins. After reinstallation there was a Pop up with a new security certificate update for HP printer. Perhaps after update to android 14. Perhaps this is the problem. Good luck.

Hi,
Sorry, that nothing worked so far. I had the same issue after all again.
In my frustration I have changed the black cartridge (I got new one from instant ink, although there was a little leftover ink)
It worked for a short time, but with installed plug ins and HP smart the error occurs again.
Acctually I have deinstalled all HP plugins with only HP smart (for status check)on the phone and print with Adobe Scan. It works and I have fear to use HP own Apps again. 6years use seems to be too long. Evil to him who evil thinks. 😉
Good luck.

It is not worth my time trying to perform resets or replace expensive ink cartridges...with limited success. There is a design issue with this printer IMO. This unit did not even last 2 years with limited printing. This is very disappointing given the initial cost and all the wasted money we GAVE to instant ink. While I love HP laptops, I have lost faith in their printers. We have canceled instant ink and will replace the printer with another brand.
