Printer is getting Printer Failure error number 71.02.4A. Pro 8028 3UC64A
I have tried many of the online fixes and still does not work. Is there a way to set back to factory defaults?
The printhead is stuck on the right and only way to move it is to rotate the gears on the left side to release the carriage holder.
Any help is appreciated

Hi @VIC_5,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are facing issues with the Error 71.02.4A.
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I tried everything you suggested. The printer still will not work. Same error code 71.02.4A with the carriage stuck on the right side. Everything worked fine with the printer until the new black ink cartridge was installed.

Hi @VIC_5,
Thank you for performing the recommended steps, I see that it has not helped.
As a last resort, let's perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings and see if that works.
The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
