I have tried all the fixes HP suggested and others I found online.

When I try to print any document I get a 79 Error. I have turned iPV6 off. I have reset my router. I have restarted my printer. I have restarted my computer. My printer is not printing anything. When I ask it to print it starts and then - 79 Error - and it automatically restarts.

@BallardKonaKing, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Error 79 on HP printers is typically related to an internal firmware issue or a problem with the print job.

Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this error:

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates on the HP Support website by entering your printer model number.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, corrupted print jobs can cause Error 79. Try clearing the print queue on your computer to ensure there are no pending or stuck print jobs.

Disconnect Network Connections:

  • Temporarily disconnect the printer from network connections, including Ethernet and wireless. Connect it directly to a computer via a USB cable and attempt a test print.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall the latest drivers from the HP website. This helps ensure that there’s no issue with the software interface.

Reset Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset on the printer by turning it off, disconnecting the power cord, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then reconnecting the power cord and turning it back on.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
