Hi @Heathmaid,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error codes like 0X6201922A on HP printers can indicate various issues, but the XM_CM-Command error specifically might relate to a problem with the printer's firmware or communication with the computer. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website. Download and install any available updates following the instructions provided.
- Check Connections: Make sure all cables connecting the printer to your computer are securely plugged in. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Reset the Printer: You can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings you have configured.
- Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, pending print jobs can cause errors. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs. Then try printing again to see if the error persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden, I've tried those methods already as I'd seen them on a previous post. I seem to be able to print a single black and white page before the error occurs, if I try to print colour, the print is striped and poor quality.
Any advice is greatly appreciated however I suspect this printer has reached its end.
