@Charlotte1979, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Code: UA_404_EB000A9903!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Got it — thanks for sharing that error code. I know it feels unsettling when your device flashes a cryptic string of numbers at you. Let’s calm things down and try a few steps:

Restart fresh – Power off your PC completely, unplug the adapter, and press/hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Then reconnect and try again.

Update BIOS & drivers – Visit HP Support, enter your product number, and install the latest BIOS and chipset updates (these often clear error codes like this).

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics – Turn your PC on, keep tapping F2, and run the system tests. This will tell us if it’s hardware or software.

Check Windows Updates – Outdated updates can trigger errors. Make sure you’re fully up to date.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
