This printer is just a week old. I've logged on this morning and am unable to print. The following error code comes up coupled with a message saying the printer is in error status: HPF6C60C

Hi @Sandraismyname,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 5105 printer is showing the error HPF6C60C and is in “Error Status” even though it’s only a week old. Let’s go through steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Power Cycle the Printer

Turn off the printer using the power button.

Unplug the power cord from the wall and the printer.

Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Sometimes, this clears temporary errors.

Check Ink Cartridges & Tanks

Open the printer and check all ink tanks and cartridges are properly seated and not leaking.

Ensure the ink tank caps are securely closed.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

Remove any paper in the tray or feeder.

Open all accessible panels and check for bits of paper, tape, or foreign objects.

Verify Printer Status on HP Smart App

Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.

Check for additional alerts or prompts, sometimes the app provides guidance for resolving error codes like HPF6C60C.

Update Firmware

Even new printers may need a firmware update.

In the HP Smart app, go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Printer Updates → Check Now.

Install any updates and restart the printer.

Reset the Printer

If the error persists, perform a factory reset:

Press and hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds until the printer restarts.

This can clear firmware glitches causing the error.

I hope this helps.
