When I try to print a test page or any other page I get "Error, Printing" message on print queue.
HP ColorLaserJet MFP M182-M185
Windows 11. When I go to Device Manager and click on Printers this HP printer is not listed.
HP Smart App installed. It says printer is ready. Rebooted computer after app installed.
When I print from HP Smart App I get same error message.
No message on printer.
Printer works okay on another computer that is Windows 10.

Hi @RONH999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ColorLaserJet MFP M182-M185 is having trouble communicating with your Windows 11 PC. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Check Printer Connection
- Ensure the printer is properly connected to your Windows 11 PC via USB or network.
- If it's a network printer, make sure it's connected to the same network as your PC.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your HP ColorLaserJet printer and click Remove device.
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Install the drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
Update Windows
- Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and checking for updates.
Check Printer Settings in HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Go to Printer Settings and make sure the printer is set up correctly.
Reset Printer
- Try restarting the printer. Turn it off, wait a minute, and then turn it back on.
Clear Print Queue
- Open Control Panel and go to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel any pending print jobs and try printing again.
Add Printer Manually
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner.
- Follow the prompts to add the printer manually, even if it doesn't appear in the list.
Check for Conflicting Software
- Sometimes third-party security software or other applications can interfere with printing. Ensure that no other software is blocking the print job.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
