HP ENVY Photo 6234
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

When trying to make a COPY, my printer (HP ENVY Photo 6234) stops working while showing the error code 0X00829C98 HW WATCHDOG C. The error doesn't come up always, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I can only disconnect the power cord and restart the printer. For a while it will work again but sooner or later, the same error appears...

The only solution that I can find on this forum, suggests to reinstall the HP Smart app but since the error appears while trying to make a copy, I don't see what the app has to do with it. (Making copies should even work without a computer connected, no?)

During printing or scanning this error didn't come up (yet...)

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thx.

Pat

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a 0X00829C98 error, I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset, reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Here are the steps:- Click here
