Hi @geomy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0xc19a0013 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 typically indicates a problem with the printhead or ink system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Turn Off and Restart: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check and Reinstall the Printhead:

  • Open the printer’s front cover to access the printhead.
  • Remove the printhead and check for any visible signs of damage or debris.
  • Reinstall the printhead securely. Ensure it clicks into place.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Remove and inspect the ink cartridges for any signs of damage or leaks.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, making sure they are properly seated.

Clean the Printhead Contacts:

  • Gently clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry before reinstalling the printhead.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website and install them if applicable.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Navigate to the printer's menu and look for a "Reset" or "Restore Factory Settings" option.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
