Hi @Linda50628,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error code 3 on your HP DeskJet 2700e typically indicates an issue with the ink cartridges or a paper jam. Since you've already reseated the cartridges, here are a few more steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Check for Obstructions or Paper Jams:
- Open the ink cartridge access door and carefully inspect for any paper or debris that may be blocking the cartridge movement.
- Make sure there are no paper jams in the input or output tray.
Reset the Printer:
- Unplug the printer while it is on.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
- Check if the error persists after the reset.
Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Carefully remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the ink cartridges.
- Allow them to dry for a few moments, then reinstall them.
Check Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure that you are using the correct ink cartridges for your printer model.
- If you're using refilled or third-party cartridges, try using genuine HP cartridges, as compatibility issues can sometimes trigger errors.
Printer Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this by using the HP Smart app or visiting the HP support site to check for firmware updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
