Error code 6201922A keeps happening even when I have unplugged and restarted the printer as suggested in other messages. I've done this twice now but it comes back up. It was working perfectly yesterday!

Hi @MDS444,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Meanwhile, you can try these steps.

I understand your HP printer is repeatedly showing error code 6201922A, even after unplugging and restarting. Let’s go through some steps to troubleshoot this issue:

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

Open all printer access panels and trays.

Look carefully for any paper scraps, labels, or foreign objects that may be blocking the paper path.

Remove anything you find and close the panels securely.

Verify Cartridges & Covers

Remove and reinsert all ink/toner cartridges to ensure they are seated properly.

Make sure all covers and doors are fully closed, as some error codes are triggered by unlatched panels.

Power Reset

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.

Wait 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and power it on.

Test the printer to see if the error persists.

Check Firmware

Ensure your printer firmware is up to date.

Go to HP Smart app or Embedded Web Server to check for updates.

Check Network / Connectivity (if wireless)

If using Wi-Fi, reconnect the printer to the network.

Switch to a wired connection (USB) temporarily to see if the error disappears.

Inspect Sensors & Paper Path

Error 6201922A sometimes relates to a stuck or misaligned paper sensor.

Gently inspect the rollers and sensors for dust or debris; clean carefully with a lint-free cloth.

Test with a Different Paper

Use a fresh stack of standard printer paper.

Make sure the paper is properly aligned and the tray isn’t overfilled.

I hope this helps.
