Hi @Lancasterka,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the error code so clearly. I know how frustrating it can be when your HP printer suddenly stops working and shows a cryptic message like: Error Code: Oxc4eb9024 Hj_micc12_v12. Let’s walk through this and clarify to get your printer back on track.

Recommended Steps to Fix It

1. Perform a Full Power Reset

This clears internal memory and resets the printer’s logic.

Steps:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (while unplugged).
  5. Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  6. Turn it back on.

2. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Open the ink access door.
  • Remove cartridges and inspect the printhead area.
  • Gently move the carriage left and right to ensure it moves freely.
  • Remove any debris or stuck paper.

3. Clean the Printhead Contacts

Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean:

  • The gold contacts on the cartridges
  • The printhead contact area inside the printer

Let everything dry before reinserting.

4. Update Firmware via HP App

Outdated firmware can cause validation and error loops.

👉 Download HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
Use it to check for updates and run diagnostics.

5. Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

This tool can automatically detect and resolve common issues.

👉 Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
