Hi @Trace2205,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code "OXC4EB8004" on an HP Smart Tank Plus 655 Wireless All-In-One printer typically indicates a printhead issue. This error usually occurs when the printhead is not functioning correctly or is unable to move properly.

To resolve this error, you can try the following steps.

  • Turn off the printer: Press the Power button to turn off the printer and wait for a few seconds.
  • Disconnect the power cord: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and also from the power outlet.
  • Wait for some time: Leave the printer disconnected for about 5 minutes. This allows the printer to reset.
  • Reconnect the power cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet.
  • Turn on the printer: Press the Power button to turn on the printer and check if the error still persists.

If the error continues to appear, you may need to perform additional troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more suggestions.

  • Check for obstructions: Open the printer cover and make sure there are no foreign objects obstructing the movement of the printhead. Remove any paper or debris if found.
  • Reset the printer: With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait for about a minute, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Clean the printhead: Follow the instructions provided in the printer's user manual to clean the printhead. This process may vary depending on the printer model. Cleaning the printhead can help resolve any clogs or blockages that may be causing the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you but none of this has worked so far. Had it disconnected for a couple of days, did as you suggested again this morning and still the same error message.  Nothing is obstructing the printhead, it's all clear and clean but I have nothing in the manual that tells me to do anything else or how to pull apart and clean anything. just moving home instructions. The manual is extremely basic.
