Hi @Dnice5,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB39FF018 on your HP OfficeJet 6954 printer typically indicates a firmware or hardware issue. Since you also mentioned that the printer is only recognizing itself as an OfficeJet 6950, this could be due to an incorrect or corrupted firmware version being installed.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Wait for 1-2 minutes, then reconnect and power it on.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter "OfficeJet 6954" or "OfficeJet 6950" to locate the correct firmware.
  • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the printer on.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall any existing drivers for the printer from your computer.
  • Go to the HP website and download the specific drivers for the OfficeJet 6954.
  • Follow the installation prompts to reinstall the drivers.

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Follow the prompts to reset the printer to its original factory settings.
  • After the reset, reconnect the printer to your network and set it up again.

Verify Model and Region Settings:

  • The printer might have been set to a different region or model series during setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
