Hi @Alice7771,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your printer, let's try a few steps to resolve the issue.

Here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this error:

Remove and Reinstall the Cartridge:

  • Open the cartridge access door. The carriage will automatically move to the center for accessible removal.
  • If the left ink level icon is blinking, the issue is with the color cartridge; if the right icon is blinking, it is with the black cartridge.
  • Lightly press down on the loose cartridge and remove it.
  • Reinstall the cartridge securely until it snaps into place with a click sound.
  • If both icons were blinking, repeat the process for the other cartridge.
  • Close the cartridge access door and press the “X” button on the control panel to try to clear the error code.

Inspect the Cartridge:

  • After opening the cartridge access door and removing the cartridge, set it down on a protected surface.
  • Carefully inspect the cartridges for any damage or obstructions. Make sure there are no packing materials or tape left on the cartridge.
  • Verify that the cartridge numbers are compatible with your printer model, which you can check at hp.com/shop.
  • Reinstall both cartridges properly and close the access door again. Press “X” to clear the error code.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • If the error code persists, turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, and wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in and restarting the printer.

I hope this helps.
