Hi @RBPS,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I know how frustrating it is when your HP printer shows an error and refuses to print, especially when you need it urgently. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to get it working again.
1. Run HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
HP has a built-in tool in the HP app that can automatically detect and fix common issues like:
- Print jobs stuck in the queue
- Printer offline status
- Driver or spooler errors
How to use it:
- Open the HP app (HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site).
- Select your printer > go to Diagnostics > Diagnose & Fix.
- Click Start and let it run. Follow any instructions it gives.
2. Check for Printhead Errors
If your printer is an inkjet model (like Smart Tank or OfficeJet), a printhead error can prevent printing.
Fix:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- If the error persists, remove and reseat the printhead.
- Use only genuine HP ink to avoid compatibility issues.
3. Clear Print Queue
Sometimes a stuck job can block all printing.
Steps:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer > See what’s printing.
- Cancel all jobs.
- Restart the printer and try again.
4. Check for Blank Page Printing
If the printer prints, but the pages are blank:
- Run a Print Quality Diagnostic from the printer menu.
- Make sure cartridges are properly installed and ink levels are sufficient.
- Clean the printhead if needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
