Hi @Petejr1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code "0x6100004a" on an HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer typically indicates a hardware issue, often related to a paper jam or carriage jam. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
- Check for paper jams: Open the printer's access door and carefully check for any jammed paper. If you find any, gently remove it. Be sure to check all areas, including the input tray, output tray, and any internal compartments.
- Check the carriage: Make sure the carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, can move freely. If it's stuck, gently move it back and forth to see if it loosens up. Ensure there are no obstructions blocking its movement.
- Restart the printer: Sometimes, simply turning the printer off, waiting a few moments, and then turning it back on can clear the error.
- Reset the printer: You can perform a power reset by unplugging the printer from the power source, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
- Update firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates through the printer's control panel or by visiting the HP support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
