Hi @Kuhlcat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're receiving an error message indicating there's a problem with the supply system after changing all cartridges, there are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Steps to Resolve Supply System Error

  1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:
    • Ensure that you have installed the correct HP cartridges for your printer model. Check the printer’s documentation or the inside of the printer for the correct cartridge numbers.

  2. Reinstall Cartridges:
    • Turn off the printer and wait for it to finish powering down.
    • Open the cartridge access door and remove each cartridge.
    • Inspect cartridges for any tape or packaging left on the copper contacts and nozzle. Remove all packaging if found.
    • Reinsert the cartridges into their respective slots until they click into place.
    • Close the cartridge access door and turn the printer back on.

  3. Clean Cartridge Contacts:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
    • Use a clean, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and in the printer. Ensure that no ink or debris is blocking the contacts.
    • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

  4. Reset the Printer:
    • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord, and turn the printer on. This helps reset any error states in the printer system.

  5. Update Printer Firmware:
  6. Check for Blockages:
    • Inspect the inside of the printer for any paper jams or blockages and clear them if necessary.

  7. Try a Different Cartridge:
    • If the issue persists, try using a different set of HP cartridges, as sometimes the cartridges themselves can be defective.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
