Error message on my printer: Printer Failure. There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP. I've done that 2 times and still get the same message.

Hi @BigBear77,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering a persistent issue with your HP printer despite following the recommended steps. Here are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink/toner levels. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
  • Inspect for Paper Jams: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Even small pieces of torn paper can cause issues.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve communication issues between the printer and your computer. Try turning off both the printer and your computer, then turn them back on.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model on the HP website. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs or compatibility issues.
  • Reset Printer: Perform a reset on your printer. The method to reset varies depending on the model of your HP printer, so refer to the user manual or HP's support website for instructions specific to your printer model.
  • Clean Printhead: If your printer has a removable printhead, you can try removing it and cleaning it according to the HP instructions. Built-up ink or debris on the printhead can cause printing problems.

By going through these steps, you may be able to resolve the issue with your HP printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
