Hi @ReinhardW22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Identify the LED Blinking Pattern

Different LED blinks indicate different issues:

  • Power button blinking: Printer is in standby mode.
  • Wi-Fi light blinking: Printer is disconnected from the network.
  • Ink alert light blinking: Low or faulty ink cartridge.
  • Paper light blinking: Paper jam or empty tray.
  • Both ink and paper lights blinking: Hardware error.

Check your printer’s screen (or HP Smart app) for error messages.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer and remove the cartridges.
  • Wipe the gold contacts with a dry lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert them firmly and close the cover.

Clear Paper Jams

  • Open the printer back panel and check for stuck paper.
  • Remove any jammed paper gently, then restart the printer.

Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press & hold the Power + Cancel buttons for 10 seconds.
  3. Release them and let the printer restart.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Download & install the latest drivers from HP Support.

Fix Event ID 69962

If this event appears in Windows Event Viewer, it's a network-related error. Try:

  • Restarting your router and reconnecting the printer to Wi-Fi.
  • Using USB mode instead of Wi-Fi to check if the error disappears.
