@Mimler4, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with your printer printing multiple copies unexpectedly. Let's try to fix this issue together. Here are a few steps you can follow:

Check Print Settings:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to the print dialog box (usually found under "File" > "Print").
  • Ensure the "Number of copies" is set to 1.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can help diagnose and fix printing issues. You can download it here.

Check for Bidirectional Support:

  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers".
  • Right-click on your HP printer and select "Printer Properties".
  • Under the "Ports" tab, uncheck "Enable bidirectional support" and click "Apply".

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • If the issue persists, uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall them:
    • Open "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features".
    • Find your HP printer, select it, and click "Uninstall".
    • Go to "Devices and Printers", right-click on your printer, and select "Remove device".
    • Reinstall the drivers from the HP Support website

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
