Hi @Mitchy3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

When everything is flashing on the screen of your HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer, it usually indicates that the printer is experiencing an error or a malfunction. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Identify the Error

  • Check for Error Codes or Messages: Sometimes, the flashing screen might accompany an error code or message. Look closely at the screen to see if any error code or message is displayed. This information can help identify the specific problem.

2. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn Off and Unplug: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug In and Restart: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the flashing has stopped.

3. Check for Paper Jams

  • Inspect for Jams: Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the issue. Clear any jams carefully.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a Factory Reset: If the flashing continues, you might need to reset the printer to its factory settings.
    1. Press and hold the Resume button (the one with a triangle) and the Wireless button simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.
    2. Release the buttons when the printer starts resetting.

5. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Inspect the Ink Cartridges: Open the printer’s cartridge access door and check if the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are properly seated.

6. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Connect to the Internet: If your printer is connected to the internet, use the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel to check for any available firmware updates. Updating the firmware can resolve many issues.

Flashing lights and screens on HP printers typically signal that the printer needs attention, whether it’s due to a paper jam, ink issue, or a system error. Following the above steps should help diagnose and resolve the problem.

You may also refer to this document for further assistance on blinking lights.

If the flashing persists after trying these steps and there is no clear error code or message, it might indicate a more serious hardware issue. In this case, contacting HP phone support is recommended for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
