@papypat42, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Expired Certificate Error on HP Smart Tank 7006!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If you're experiencing an expired certificate error with your HP Smart Tank 7006 printer when trying to print a file from Word or Excel, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Check Printer Drivers: Ensure that the printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support page by entering your printer model.
Update Firmware: Make sure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or directly from the printer's settings if it's network connected.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Clear Print Queue: Cancel all print jobs in your computer’s print queue and try sending the print job again.
Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, outdated Windows versions can cause printing issues. Ensure your Windows OS is up-to-date.
Test with a Different File Format: Try printing a PDF or an image file to check if the problem is specifically with Office applications or a general printing issue.
Reinstall Office Applications: If the problem persists only with Word or Excel documents, consider repairing or reinstalling Microsoft Office applications.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
