Hi,
How can I perform a Factory Reset on my old HP Officejet Pro 8600 with a Printer Failure Error displayed on the screen which is preventing me accessing the menu's?
I can't access via EWS as this was disabled when I first setup the printer years ago.
I need to wipe all of my personal settings like my email address etc so I need to factory reset before I give it away for spares.
Thanks.

You can ask Microsoft's Copilot how to reset the printer but I suspect if the control panel doesn't work you won't be able to do much of anything.
Thank you for using HP products and posting to the community.

Thank you, but this didn't help.
The screen does work, but I just can't clear this error message to then get to the menus to perform a reset or even re-enable EWS.
Surely there must be a way to do this. If there is one time you want to factory reset / wipe the config of your printer, its when its failed and you're disposing of it / recycling it. As soon as any error message comes up on the screen, you can't do anything on the screen until you clear the fault triggering the error message.
know the printer contains IP address information, usernames, passwords, email addresses, server details etc, all is of a sensitive nature and I need to wipe it.
I can't be the only one that has come across this issue?
Thanks,
Richard.
