Thank you for your response
False paper jams can occur even when there is no jammed paper inside the printer. You can follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Possible Jam Locations
Paper jams can occur in the following areas of the printer:
- Output tray
- Separator pad
- Document feeder
- Print zone
- Input Tray
- Rear access area
Steps to Remove Jammed Paper
Clear a paper jam from the input tray:
- Pull out the input tray.
- Check the gap in the printer where the input tray was. Reach into the gap and remove any jammed paper.
- Reinsert the input tray into the printer.
Clear a paper jam from the print zone:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Move the print carriage to the far right or left of the printer and remove any jammed paper.
- Close the cartridge access door.
Clear a paper jam from the rear access area:
- Turn to the rear of the printer.
- Press the buttons on the rear access door and open the door.
- Remove any jammed paper.
- Insert the paper path cover back into the printer.
- Close the rear access door.
Clear a paper jam from the document feeder:
- Lift the cover of the document feeder.
- Pull any jammed paper out of the rollers.
- Close the cover of the document feeder.
- Lift the document feeder tray and remove any jammed paper underneath.
- Lower the document feeder tray.
Reset the Printer
Resetting the printer can help recover from printer errors or failures:
- Press the power button to turn off the printer. If it does not turn off, disconnect the power cord.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
- Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
