HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer

Anyone else have issues with their desk Jet constantly start flashing orange lights? The printer will be fine and connected to WiFi, solid blue light for days and days, but as soon as I go to print it starts flashing basically every light and I have to push the cancel button and that’s what triggers the print to begin.. otherwise it just stays flashing until I do push the cancel..it also does this if I print by direct connect with the usb cable and with direct connect printing when I connect to it with its WiFi signal directly.. it’s really annoying what should take me a couple minutes to print a page sometimes take me half an hour to an hour just Messing with it and wasting multiple pages of print that I do not want.. I’ve used probably a whole pack of paper just on it printing random things rather than what I’m trying to print.. I must say my old Samsung printer from about 15 years ago is so much easier to use I just can’t find ink ever.. but all it takes is plugging it in once to a usb or signal and it instantly downloads drivers and stays connected thought years and years. The 2734e I can’t even get it to stay connected from one page of print to the next.. and I have a very good WiFi connection I have no other issues with any other devices at all.. any help would be amazing, unless someone wants to take this thing off my hands I’m probably just going to give it away at This point.. thank you.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Deskjet 2734e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with these connectivity and flashing light issues when trying to print. Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

Check Printer Status & Error Codes

Since multiple lights are flashing, it’s important to identify the exact error. Try the following:

  1. Press the “Cancel” button (🛑) to see if the lights stop flashing.
  2. Check the HP Smart App – It may provide a more detailed error message.

Power Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug it from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds and then plug it back in.
  4. Turn it on and try printing again.

Reset Network & Reconnect WiFi

Since your printer disconnects frequently, try these steps:

  1. Reset WiFi Settings:
    • Press and hold the WiFi button (📶) and Cancel button (🛑) together for 5 seconds until the Power light flashes.
    • Reconnect the printer to WiFi using the HP Smart App.
  2. Assign a Static IP Address:
    • Open your router settings and manually assign a static IP to the printer.
    • You can find the current IP by printing a Network Configuration Page (Press the i button on the printer).

Check Drivers & USB Connection

  1. If printing via USB, ensure that the HP Smart App and the latest drivers are installed from HP’s official website.
  2. If you experience delays with USB printing, try a different cable or USB port.

Factory Reset (if issue persists)

  1. Press and hold WiFi + Power button together for 10 seconds until the printer resets.
  2. Set it up again via the HP Smart App.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, let me know what lights are flashing (color and pattern), and I’ll be happy to assist further!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
