Hi @AbodeBrew

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing the image—it looks like your printer’s red light next to the “X” button is flashing continuously. That usually signals an error condition that needs attention before printing can resume. Here's how to approach it:

Step-by-step to stop the flashing:

Check the display icon
If the screen shows a paper or document symbol, it might be a paper jam, paper misfeed, or empty tray.

  • Open the input and output trays and gently remove any stuck paper.
  • Reload paper properly and ensure it’s aligned.

Press the “X” button once
This may cancel the current job or clear the error. If the light continues flashing, move to the next step.

Open the ink access door

  • Check for any obstruction around the ink cartridges.
  • If the carriage is stuck, gently move it to the center and inspect for jammed paper or debris.

Check ink levels and cartridge seating

  • Remove and reinsert both black and color cartridges.
  • Make sure they click into place and the printer recognizes them.

Restart the printer

  • Power off using the button, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Watch the lights—if the red light returns, note any changes on the display.

Use the HP App’s Diagnose & Fix tool

  • Open the HP App on your PC or mobile.
  • Go to Support > Diagnose & Fix and run the tool while the printer is connected.

If the flashing persists even after these checks, and you’ve ruled out paper jams and cartridge issues, it may be a hardware fault or sensor error. In that case, replacing the unit could be worth considering.

Let me know the printer model if you'd like tailored steps or help checking compatibility for a replacement.
