Product: HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I sent a single page of text to the printer and it printed twenty pages with a single line of characters on each that was not related to my text at all. Tried all of the usual things I have to do at least weekly like turn printer off and on. restart computer, wifi etc.  The garbage lines had umlaut and other characters from other languages and graphic symbols

In most cases this behaviour is caused by a wrong driver being used. Make sure you have the proper HP driver installed. Microsoft has a nasty habit of swapping drivers and replacing the user installed driver with a Microsoft IPP driver.
