Hi @Barbaro1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The E3 error on HP printers typically indicates a carriage jam or an issue with the printhead carriage. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this:

1. Check for Obstructions in the Carriage Path

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Open the cartridge access door and inspect the carriage path for any obstructions like paper fragments or debris.
  • Gently slide the carriage side to side to ensure it moves freely. Do not force it if it’s stuck.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear temporary errors.

3. Inspect the Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges and check for any damage or improperly seated cartridges.
  • Reinsert them securely and ensure the cartridge latch is locked in place.

4. Clean the Printhead

  • If the error persists, clean the printhead using the printer’s maintenance menu or the HP Smart app.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a printhead cleaning.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Let me know how these steps work for you or if you need further guidance! 🌟
