Go 3830 showing ? Symbol lit up and printing issues

The printer was working fine, but the black ink ran out. I replaced the black ink and when I started my next print job only one page printed before it claimed there was a paper jam and cancelled the job. Soon after the ‘?’ Came on and stayed on. Fast forward another new ink cartridge put in, new paper, reset printer, and still throwing the same error. Sometimes I get lucky and it will print one page. But nothing more before the paper jam error comes up. Help!

The ? symbol refers to the help menu.

 

Going through your post I see that the printer is giving a false paper jam error, I'd suggest you follow the steps from the document Paper Jam Error to isolate and resolve the issue.

 

Also, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

If the issue persists, we can perform a full reset on the printer. 

 

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
