HP OfficeJet 5252 All-in-One Printer

When I send a printing job to my printer from my phone it gives me an error message but still prints a full gray piece of paper. This has been happening ever since three updates ago and before that never had a problem one time. Need help

I have called HP, AT&T and AT&T said I need to get a hold of Apple and was on the phone with Apple for three hours and we still could not get it fixed.

@Milinda1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding gray page when print from iPhone 13!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with this issue, especially since it started after an update. Thanks for sharing the details! Let's try some troubleshooting steps to narrow down the cause.

Restart Everything – Power cycle your iPhone, printer, and Wi-Fi router. Sometimes, a simple reboot can refresh connections and fix software hiccups.

Check Printer Firmware & App – Ensure your HP OfficeJet 5252 has the latest firmware. You can update it via the HP Smart app or from the printer's control panel under Settings > Printer Update.

Test Different Apps & Files – Does this happen when printing from all apps (Safari, Notes, Photos, etc.), or just one specific app? Try printing a PDF or an image from a different source.

AirPrint-Specific Troubleshooting:

Reset AirPrint Connection – Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the i next to your network, and select Forget This Network. Reconnect and try printing again.

Try Printing from Another Apple Device – If possible, test with another iPhone or iPad to see if the issue persists.

A couple of quick questions to help pinpoint the root cause:

Does the printer work fine when printing from a Windows PC or Mac?

Have you tried removing and re-adding the printer under Settings > Printers & Scanners on your iPhone?

Let me know what happens after these steps, and we’ll figure out the next best move! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
