Hi @Dan692, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP OfficeJet 4655 is printing faint whispers instead of bold pronouncements? Let's troubleshoot this ink-induced shyness! 🙃😬
Let's try these steps:

Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them for clogs or dried ink.
  • Gently clean the nozzles with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
  • Ensure that they are properly seated in the printer.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer control panel, go to:
    • Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead
  • Perform a second or third cleaning cycle if the issue persists.

Print a Quality Diagnostic Report

  • Press Setup on the printer.
  • Navigate to Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • Check if there are missing or faded sections.

Adjust Print Settings

  • Open the print dialog on your computer.
  • Go to Printer Preferences and increase Print Quality to Best.
  • Set the paper type to match the actual paper used.

Use Genuine HP Ink

  • If you’re using third-party or refilled cartridges, they might not work properly. Try genuine HP cartridges.

Check Paper Type

  • Use high-quality paper as low-quality or damp paper can cause faded prints.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit HP Support and update your printer firmware.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect power for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
