HP 4500 model G510n
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I saw a post with the same problem but I can't seem to resolve this issue.  My HP 4500  G510n  printer screen stays on   "printing" while the  HP Utility status on my computer reads "device status: hard error". A sheet of paper is pulled through halfway but nothing is printed on it and it just sits there.

When not connected to the computer, the printer stalls after every command (which will show up on the screen and stay there). The printer will not make a copy or perform a Test print, either by pressing the " X and then okay"  or from my MacBook.     I've tried uninstalling the printer driver and re-installing but nothing seems to work.  I have new HP 901 cartridges and have done a hard reset repeatedly.
