Hi @telebob98

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating this must be—especially when the printer shows no signs of power at all. Let's go through some HP-specific troubleshooting steps to try and revive your HP OfficeJet 4630.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting for HP OfficeJet 4630 Not Turning On

1. Perform a Basic Power Reset

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Disconnect all cables (USB, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Wait 2-3 minutes to allow residual power to drain.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds (while unplugged).
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips/surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on and check if it powers up.

2. Check the Power Cord and Adapter

  • Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Try using a different power outlet to rule out electrical issues.
  • If possible, test with a compatible HP power adapter from another HP printer.

3. Inspect the Power Module

  • Some HP printers have an external power module (a small box on the power cord).
  • If your printer has one, check if the green light on the module is on.
  • If the light is off, the power module may need replacement.

4. Try a Hard Reset

  • Unplug the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and plug the printer back in.
  • Turn it on and check if it responds.

Let me know if you need further clarification! I know how frustrating printer power issues can be, but hopefully, this gets your HP OfficeJet 4630 back up and running. 😊
