I keep getting the flashing blue screen and the printer says do not use the power strip to turn off, which I don't.  I use the control on off button.  It maintenance cycles two or three times and then does the blue screen.  I turn it off for a period of time, it will print one page, and then does the same thing.

I go to the website for some solutions, and get nothing substantial.  I have over $100 in new ink cartridges, and I would like to use them up before I trash the printer. And seek out another brand with fewer headaches.  HP keeps changing models and print cartridges, so they have us by the pocket book.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

I understand that you keep getting a blue screen on your HP 6700 Printer

I'll try my best to help

Let's start with a Printer Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Also update the Firmware from this Link: https://hp.care/2rxJ0Fh

Keep me posted how it goes. If the issue persists, we might have to go for a Semi-Full Reset

Thank you 🙂

I have done the cord disconnect routine , to no avail.  But I will try the firmware update and see if that works.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thank you,
