Hi @irinoyb,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP 7740 Wide Format Printer is showing a blue screen error with the code B8CEFFB8, it generally indicates a hardware issue or a problem with the printer's firmware. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset any temporary issues.

2. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates on the HP support website.
  • If an update is available, follow the instructions provided on the website to update the firmware.

3. Inspect Connections

  • Check all cables connected to the printer, including the power cord, USB, or Ethernet cables. Ensure they are securely connected and not damaged.
  • If you are using a USB connection, try a different USB port on your computer or a different cable.

4. Perform a Hard Reset

  • If the error persists, you can perform a hard reset of the printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

5. Run Printer Diagnostics

  • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool (available for Windows) to diagnose and fix issues. If you're using macOS, you can try the HP Smart app.
  • Follow the prompts to identify and resolve any issues.

6. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Inspect the printer for any visible hardware issues, such as paper jams, foreign objects, or damaged components. Clear any paper jams and remove any obstructions inside the printer.

7. Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

  • If the error continues, consider resetting the printer to factory settings. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may indicate a more serious hardware problem. In this case, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance and potential repair options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
