Hi @ForcedScreenNam, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP OfficeJet Pro 7855 is frozen on boot and won’t pass the first dot, you’ll need to perform a full semi-full reset. This is different from the basic reset methods available publicly.

Steps for a Semi-Full Reset (Factory Reset)

Method 1: Button Combination Reset (Blind Reset)

Since the screen is unresponsive, you will need to perform a reset using a key combination. Try the following:

Power Off the Printer

  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer while it's still ON.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.

Power On with a Button Combination

  • Press and hold the following two buttons:
    • Back button (⬅️) + Cancel button ()
  • While holding these buttons, plug the power cable back into the printer.
  • Keep holding the buttons until you see "Permanent Storage Initialization" or the printer restarts.

If the printer does not respond:

  • Try Back (⬅️) + OK (✔️) instead of Back + Cancel.
  • If neither works, try the 4-button reset: Press and hold Back (⬅️) + Cancel () + OK (✔️) + Color Copy (🖨️) while plugging in the power cable.

Release the buttons and allow the printer to restart.

Method 2: NVRAM Reset (Last Resort)

If the printer is still stuck at the first dot after trying the above:

  1. Unplug the printer and hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the power and immediately press and hold Back (⬅️) + Home (🏠) + OK (✔️).
  3. If successful, the printer should enter the Reset Menu. Use the arrow keys to select NVRAM Reset or Restore Defaults.
  4. Confirm the reset and allow the printer to restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

That's not gonna work for this printer. There's no ok button and the other buttons are on the touch screen which doesn't respond
