HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer

My printer is printing double sided, even when I turn double-sided off in the print layout menu. It does this with pdfs and through my Finale program. How can I get it to print correctly?

Bring up Printers and Scanners and set the default printer.

I recommend you install the printer a second time and give it the name "...Duplex..."
Then set that printer's default for duplex.

For example the below shows changing the factory default for the paper source to something else.

My only experience with MacOS was a Hackintosh years ago.

Google AI knows a lot more than me.

To install the same printer twice on a Mac, simply go through the standard printer adding process in System Settings, selecting the printer again when prompted, and assigning a different name or specific settings to differentiate the two instances of the same printer; essentially, you can add the same printer multiple times with unique configurations for each entry. [1, 2, 3]

Key points to remember: [1, 2, 4]
  • Unique names: When adding the printer a second time, give it a different name to easily identify which printer you want to use. [1, 2, 4]
  • Custom settings: You can also adjust settings like paper size, print quality, or color options differently between the two printer entries. [2, 5]
  • Access via System Settings: Access the printer settings by going to Apple menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners. [1, 3, 5]
How to do it: [1, 3, 5]
  1. Open System Settings: Go to the Apple menu and select "System Settings". [1, 3, 5]
  2. Navigate to Printers & Scanners: Select "Printers & Scanners" from the sidebar. [1, 3, 5]
  3. Click the "+" button: Click the plus (+) button to add a new printer. [1, 3, 5]
  4. Select your printer: Choose your desired printer from the list of available devices. [2, 4, 5]
  5. Assign a different name: When prompted, give this printer a unique name to differentiate it from the first installation. [1, 2, 4]
  6. Configure settings (optional): Adjust any necessary print settings like paper size or color options. [2, 5, 6]

Generative AI is experimental.
