The printer error is missing or failed printhead when I print a document from my computer.  However, it will scan and print a copy from the machine.  How can the printer head be missing and still print a copy? Frustrating.

@WAYNEBEAR45, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

If the printhead has gone bad, you will not be able to print a test page or make copies on the printer.

 

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
