HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

Hello, my HP 8600 Office Plus HP printer has been working fine for a while until recently when I had to replace a black ink cartridge.

The printer  recently gave me the “There is a problem with the printer or ink system turn printer off then on. If the problem persists contact HP.” error. There is no error number to this issue. This issue started to pop up when I replaced my black ink cartridge with a new one. I thought that using a refurbished cartridge was what caused the problem so I went and bought an official HP 950 Black cartridge from a store and when I swapped my refurbished cartridge with the new one, I still got the error.

Whenever I remove the black ink cartridge specifically, I can navigate the menu and browse the printer's interface. But once I put the black ink cartridge back in, it gives me the error message again. I know it can’t be low on ink since I just bought it. And removing the other ink cartridges while the black one is still in place gives me the same error message so I’d have to believe it has something to do with the black ink cartridge slot.

For trouble shooting I also used the HP Smart App for Mac and tried to run “Diagnose and Repair” on it, getting to the part where it asks to do a test print, which I can’t do because the error message prevents me from doing anything on my printer. I also tried to clean the printer head and it still lead me to this error. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my printer?
