@JMCN2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 8620!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If the power button on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 printer is stuck and not responding, try these steps to fix it:

Check for Obstructions:

  • Look closely at the power button area for dust, debris, or any physical obstruction.
  • Try gently pressing and releasing the button multiple times to see if it loosens.

Power Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet while it is still ON.
  • Wait 60 seconds to allow the internal components to discharge.
  • Plug the printer back in and check if the button functions properly.

Use a Different Power Source:

  • Plug the printer into a different wall outlet to rule out power issues.

If the Button is Physically Stuck:

Use Compressed Air:

  • Blow compressed air around the button to remove dust or debris.

Gently Pry the Button:

  • Use a thin plastic tool or a toothpick to carefully lift the button if it's lodged inside.
  • Do not use sharp objects like knives or metal tools to avoid damage.

Lightly Tap the Printer:

  • Give the printer a gentle tap near the power button to see if it pops back into place

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
