Hi @kamlesh-darbar,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "missing or failed printhead" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 printer, there are several steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary errors. Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on.
  • Re-seat the Printhead: Open the printhead access door and remove the printhead. Then, re-insert it firmly back into its slot. Make sure it's properly seated and locked into place.
  • Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the carriage or the printhead assembly. Remove any debris or foreign objects that you find.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs and errors like this one.
  • Clean the Printhead Contacts: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Remove the printhead again and clean the electrical contacts on both the printhead and the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water. Be gentle and avoid touching the nozzles.
  • Check Printhead Health: If the error persists, it's possible that the printhead itself is damaged or malfunctioning. Check for any visible signs of damage, such as clogs or burnt areas. If you suspect the printhead is faulty, you may need to replace it.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the "missing or failed printhead" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @kamlesh-darbar,

Thank you for your response,

If the printer is displaying a "missing or failed printhead" error and the ink cartridge is stuck on the right side, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, this can reset the printer and resolve minor issues.
  • Manually Move the Cartridge: If the ink cartridge is stuck on the right side, gently try to move it manually to the left. Be careful not to force it, as this could damage the printer further. If it doesn't move easily, do not apply excessive force.
  • Check for Obstructions: Look inside the printer for any obstructions that may be preventing the ink cartridge from moving. Remove any paper jams or debris that you find.

Always handle the printer and its components with care to avoid causing any further damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
