Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP All-in-One Desktop PC 27 is defaulting to a fax option instead of printing. This typically happens when the fax version of the printer is set as the default device instead of the regular printer. Try the following steps to fix it.
Set the Correct Printer as Default
- Open Control Panel (Press Windows + R, type control, and hit Enter).
- Click Devices and Printers (or go to Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers).
- Look for your printer in the list. You may see two versions:
- HP [Your Printer Name]
- HP [Your Printer Name] (Fax)
- Right-click the one that does NOT have "Fax" in the name.
- Click Set as default printer.
Change Printer in the Print Dialog
If you're trying to print and it automatically selects the fax, manually change it:
- Open the document or webpage you want to print.
- Press Ctrl + P to open the print dialog.
- Click the Printer Name dropdown and select the correct printer (not the fax version).
- Click Print.
Remove Unnecessary Fax Printer
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click the printer with "Fax" in its name and select Remove device.
- Restart your computer and try printing again.
Check Windows Default Printer Settings
- Open Settings (Windows + I).
- Go to Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Scroll down and uncheck "Let Windows manage my default printer."
- Click on your actual printer (not the fax one), then click Set as default.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
