My HP Support Assistant shows several (long) dead printers. This is really annoying as I get support messages from all of them and it can be hard to figure which is which. So how can I delete or at least hide defunct devices on HP Support Assistant.

Go to Devices in Windows Settings & remove them.

The devices do not show in Devices in Windows Settings - this is an issue with HP Support Assistant.
Sorry your answer doesn't work for this issue

Press the "windows key" + "r" - type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any HP entries that you do not need.
