HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP 3302: Sending jobs to printer which says Waiting for me!!  Waiting for me to do what?

HP Recommended

Hi @AgostaA

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

When your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302 displays “Waiting for me,” it’s typically prompting for a manual action—such as confirming paper settings, loading a specific tray, or clearing a prompt on the control panel.

This message blocks the print queue until the printer receives that input.

Here’s how to resolve the “Waiting for me” message and resume printing:

Check the printer’s control panel

  • Look for any prompt asking you to confirm paper type, tray selection, or job settings
  • Tap OK, Continue, or Confirm to proceed
  • If the screen is idle, press Home and navigate to Job Status or Print Queue

Verify paper tray and type settings

  • Open the paper tray and ensure the correct paper is loaded
  • On the control panel, go to Settings > Paper Handling
  • Confirm that the tray’s paper type matches the job (e.g., Plain, A4, Letter)
  • Mismatched settings can cause the printer to pause and wait for confirmation

Clear any held or paused jobs

  • On the printer, go to Job Status > Print Jobs
  • Cancel any jobs marked as “Held” or “Paused”
  • Resend the print job from your computer

Check for secure or PIN-protected jobs

  • If the job was sent with a PIN or marked as secure, the printer will wait for you to enter the code
  • Navigate to Secure Print Jobs on the control panel and enter the PIN if prompted

Restart the printer and resend the job

  • Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on
  • Resend the print job from the HP App or your application
  • Confirm that the printer status shows Ready

Let me know if the message persists after confirming the tray and job settings—I’ll help you walk through deeper configuration or driver resets.

You’ve done everything right by checking the basics, and we’ll make sure your printer responds smoothly again.
