Just bought a printer cartridge HP 678 black from Hp store for my inkjet printer.

Removed the old printer cartridge and inserted the new printer cartridge.

I get the following error "The following Cartridge(s) must be replaced." 

I followed the protocol for a hard reset given in HP support and that did not work.

I also removed the printer cartridge and cleaned it, but this too does not work.

What do i do? ask for replacement?
