AMBER LIGHT ON PAPER TRAY IS BLINKING. PRINTER SHOWING ERROR E

Hi @umesh47,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 6075 shows an amber light blinking on the paper tray and an “E” error code on the display. Let’s walk through what this means and how to fix it.

What the Amber Light and “E” Error Mean

The amber light on the paper tray and an “E” on the control panel typically indicate a paper-related issue or a general error. Depending on the exact error code (E1, E2, E3, etc.), it could be:

  • E1 or E2: Paper size mismatch
  • E3 or E4: Paper jam or carriage jam
  • E5: Scanner or printer error
  • E6: Generic printer error
  • E9: Firmware or reset error

Steps to Fix the Issue

1. Check for Paper Jam

  • Remove all paper from the input tray
  • Open the access doors and gently check for any stuck paper
  • Use a flashlight to look for small torn pieces

2. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back
  • Unplug from the wall outlet
  • Wait 60 seconds
  • Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector)
  • Turn the printer back on

3. Check Paper Size Settings

  • Make sure the paper loaded matches the size selected in your print settings
  • Adjust the paper guides snugly against the paper stack

4. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Reseat both cartridges
  • Make sure they’re genuine HP cartridges and properly installed
