I have an HP DeskJet 2700e series printer. The X and Information (i) lights are blinking orange after an improper shutdown, and the printer is not connecting to my Wi-Fi network or my PC. I’ve tried to connect it to the network, but it doesn’t work. I also have an HP Instant Ink subscription, and the problem is that I’m still paying for the subscription every month even though the printer isn’t working. I’ve searched on YouTube and other platforms for a solution, but I haven’t been able to find one. I really need help resolving this issue.

@muller10, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If the X and Information (i) lights on your HP DeskJet 2700e series printer are blinking orange and the printer isn't connecting to your Wi-Fi network or PC, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Reset the Printer
- Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the lights stop blinking.
2. Re-establish Wireless Connection
- Restore default wireless settings on the printer:
- With the printer powered on, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button for five seconds. The Power button should blink, meaning the settings are reset.
- Use the HP Smart app on your mobile device or PC to set up the printer:
- Open the HP Smart app. If you do not have it, download it from HP's website.
- Click on “Add a Printer” and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
3. Check Network and Connections
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning correctly and that the printer and the device you're using for setup are on the same network.
- Disable any VPNs temporarily as they might interfere with network connectivity.
4. HP Instant Ink Subscription
- Even if the printer service is interrupted, the HP Instant Ink subscription continues unless canceled. It's usually a good idea to ensure the printer is fully operational to avoid unnecessary charges.
- Check your printing account online:
- Visit HP Instant Ink.
- Sign in and access your account details and subscription status.
