Hello,
I'm using a HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer printing on Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon 6.0.4 (Linux Kernel 5.15.0-113-generic).
When I print a document (PDF, LibreOffice Writer), it is printed too high on the paper (the upper margin seems to be set on zero).
I have installed HPLIP Toolbox which detected and installed HP DeskJet 2700 series drivers but it didn't fix the problem.
Could you help me?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @celine_fr,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To adjust the printing margins on your HP DeskJet 2710e printer when using Linux Mint, you typically need to configure this within your printing settings. Here's how you can adjust the margins.
Open Printing Preferences:
- Go to your document you want to print (PDF, LibreOffice Writer, etc.) and choose Print.
- In the print dialog, look for an option like "Preferences", "Properties", or "Settings". This varies depending on the application you're printing from.
Adjust Margins:
- Look for settings related to page layout or margins. There might be options like "Margin settings", "Page setup", or "Scale".
- Ensure that the margins are properly set to avoid cutting off content at the edges of the paper.
Printer-specific Settings:
- Sometimes, there are advanced settings specific to your printer model that can be accessed through the printing dialog. Look for any settings related to paper size, scaling, or positioning.
HPLIP Toolbox Adjustments:
- Since you've installed HPLIP Toolbox, you can also check within it for any additional settings related to margins or paper handling. Sometimes, these tools offer more detailed options for printer configuration.
Test Print:
- After making adjustments, perform a test print to verify if the issue has been resolved. Adjust as necessary until you achieve the desired printing position on the page.
If adjusting these settings doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to delve into more advanced printer settings within your system or consider reinstalling the printer drivers to ensure they are properly configured for your specific printer model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello @Alden4,
thank you very much for your answer. I tried to modify the top margin in the settings, and of course it works. But i's odd I have to modify them each time I print something... The defaults should be correct.
Well, I'll try to re-install the printer and let you know.
I wish you a good evening/day

Hi @Alden4,
finally, I unisntalled the printer and installed it again, but not with HPLIP. I used the "OpenPrinting CUPS" web interface at http://localhost:631/
There is no problem anymore with the margin. Let's hope it will last 🙂
Thank you again for your help.
